BIO
Musician, DJ, Educator, Consultant
During my teaching career, I found the need for reliable, personable, and knowledgeable disc jockeys to be too much of an opportunity to pass up. After studying music in college, and teaching in Cherry Hill Public Schools, I found myself at community events providing this service. Before long, my name seemed to spread by word of mouth to wedding venues, fundraisers, parties, bar mitzvahs, and other events. Beyond DJing, I have found myself consulting on different musical projects, announcing and MCing events, performing, as well as continuing my teaching career all over the tristate area.

WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?
We don't limit ourselves to any service really. I have done everything from announcing basketball games, to running sound and projection for banquets. This includes DJing for kindergarteners all the way up to Senior Citizens. I've done weddings, fundraisers, backyard parties, and clubs. I can act as an MC, DJ, or consult on your event.
WHAT IS YOUR RATE FOR DJ SERVICES?
This is probably the most common question. I pride myself in being an inexpensive option to the larger companies that have more overhead. Certain months, weekends, and days are more desirable than others. I try to work with every budget and event. Due to many different services that we provide and variables in schedule, I don't have a specific hourly rate. I'd love to speak with you about your needs and give you a very competitive quote for my services.
WHAT KIND OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
My standard setup utilizes top of the line Mackie 15 inch speakers that are suitable for doing contained events out doors. Spin with a Numark controller, and Mac software. All my music is owned on my hard drive and independent from the internet. By using a digital platform- I can cary music for any event and any occasion. I also carry two professional lights on a rig. These lights color the dance floor and add a beautiful hue to the right occasions. I have other upgrade options available as well to give a little more energy to your event.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO YOU NEED TO BOOK SERVICES?
Its never to early to book. I currently am booking popular weekend in the spring and fall about a year out. However, I have gotten calls the day before an event, and made things work if I was already available.

Yes. I can provide proof of insurance as needed to the venue of your choice.

My husband and I got married on August 24th, 2019 and we couldn't be happier who we had for our DJ and how we ended up with him. Everything truly happens for a reason. A little back story, we had a DJ planned out and some things happened and we ended up not having a DJ any longer. A friend of ours recommended Jon Hunt. We had a phone call, explained what happened and Jon was very understanding and compassionate. When we met with Jon, we linked right away. He understood our situation, listened thoroughly to ALL the details we wanted included in our wedding, and we had A LOT of specifics. My husband and I have known each other since we were 12 years old and have a lot of history, as well as we have had a long, rough road with our families. With preparing for complications, and trying to prevent some, along with trying to create and capture moments we desired for our big day, Jon was trying to be on top of it all and help us with it as much as possible. Leading up to our wedding day, Jon literally was AMAZING and so helpful!
Our wedding day itself, Jon was GREAT! He did everything we asked plus more, our guests were more than pleased with our and his music selection and his ability to blend it all together. A lot of our songs, we weren't sure what to use and we trusted the guidance of Jon and everything worked out perfect! He genuinely understood US and knew how to read a room. There was an almost predicted situation that we warned Jon may happen, so he knew when to turn a song to the next one or cut something short, etc. And I am SO glad I prepared him for what may happen, otherwise my husband and I would've been overly uncomfortable and upset on our wedding day. Jon was able to be prepared for the situation, and was able to read the room. He noticed something was off, judging by our previous conversations, and he was able to save us from a situation before it grew into an extremely upsetting one. We value Jon for that THAT much more.
We gained a new friend out of Jon and will definitely be using him for future parties and gatherings! If he isn't our DJ, he'll most likely be invited anyway! He is a great guy, great DJ, and really loves his work and puts his heart into it!

I've hired Jon to do dances and proms but he has a ton of experience doing weddings too so it was a no brainer for me to hire him for my Summer 2023 wedding! Working with him was amazing, he sent us a spreadsheet early on to help us organize/think about what songs we would need for each part of the reception. We then met with him about a month before the weddding and talked about the sheet and our choices, as well as the timeline for our event. Everything went so smoothly! He introduced our bridal party perfectly and worked will with the venue and catering managers to make sure everything was timed perfectly. Once the dance floor opened, kept everyone partying! He took requests and also listened to what we did NOT want for our wedding! I highly reccommend him and he did such a great job that my brother actually hired him for his wedding this upcoming September.
